A new post!

Here are a few things to check out.
The first is a look at the inaugural address from each of the presidents.
It's neat that you can see the words that each president emphasized the most.
The New York Times One thing that I want you to check out is the use of States vs. America over the years. The first half our America's existence, presidents spoke more of "States" in their speeches than "America." Why is that? What has change from the first 100 years to the last 100 years? Think about what we have discussed over the last few months about the idea of Federalists vs. Republicans.

everything had changed from being in war with each other (ex. states rights) all the way to Manifest destiny and how 'America' has the faithful duty from God to annex all the land westward. People stopped thinking more about their individual states, and themselves and started to think of each other as a whole nation in order to obtain the land the wanted.Federalists believed more in each state, concerning their laws and being with the federal(states) banks. Republicans on the other hand brought a new way of thinking, more about everyone as a whole. Once people started electing republicans to this country it started a new outlook for the people, and helped them realize the nation needed to work as a whole in order to achieve their goals.. makes sense enough right?
